Bend stiffeners
Bend stiffeners are used as a support for cables, flexible pipes and umbilicals at positions where constant dynamic protection is needed. This protection is essential to avoid any damage due to overbending of the cable, flexible pipe or umbilical.
Our polyurethane bend stiffeners are conically shaped and they give an increase in the overall stiffness of the cable, flexible pipe or umbilical. They are mostly fixed at either the topside or seabed connection.
Customized bend stiffeners
Polarttech is able to customize bend stiffeners to have the most optimal stiffness within your specific operation. We have developed special polyurethane systems for this application, which performs well at offshore conditions. These systems makes it also possible for us to give our clients the solution where they are looking for.
Hardness and colour possibilities
Our bend stiffeners can be produced in any desired rubber (Shore A) or plastic (Shore D) hardness. Unlike with rubber, it is very easy to choose a specific colour with polyurethane as material. This is the reason that there is no standard colour and it can always be chosen in consultation with our customer.
